There were two sizes bigger than this one but I am trying to be humble.
I am one of the Ten Finalists for the Best Canadian Blog in The 2007 Weblog Awards. I have tears. When I was originally notified that I was a contender, Laurie was quick to tell me that there were only a few days until the close of nominations and, at the time, there were very few blogs listed in the Canadian category so, I may have a hope-in-hell......thanks.....
As the deadline date was extended and more and more great Canadian blogs were nominated, I felt my dreams of fame shrinking, like the time my Dad told me that I had to go to University instead of auditioning for Cats. Stand by, I need a moment.
Moving forward.
I am truly humbled by the opportunity to be grouped in with some great writing talent. Please take a few minutes to peruse the blogs of these worthy finalists and be prepared for some amazing insights into Canadian culture, politics, life and pictures.
Wow!
and me:
Voting should begin within the next 12 hours or so. Good luck to everyone.
I'm wearing my Princess Tiara and practicing my acceptance speech.
"I would like to thank my parents for raising me to intimately understand humour and humiliation."
"I would like to thank my children for being a continual source of entertainment (inadvertently)."
"I would like to thank my employer for paying me enough to afford the internet."
"I would like to thank my friends for continually warning me that my posts are going to land my children in jail or, have Children's Aid or the SPCA fighting for first crack at me."
"I would like to thank Laurie, my nominator, for calling me in the middle of the night and playing the Guess What I Did Game? with me." Who shows her these websites? Honestly.
I have been nominated in two categories: Best Canadian Blog (my competition is stiff; they know way more than I do), and Funniest Blog (well, same).
I am thrilled, nonetheless.
To my friends and family: you have to vote for me and you can't vote for anyone else.
